What is the Catalyst Compass Network?
The Catalyst Compass Network is a community for organizations committed to building sustainable impact and inspiring their teams. Members share a belief that delivering on their mission requires intentional focus on the internal operations—things like strategic organizational management, workflows, team dynamics, and culture.
Cohort
Organizations become part of the network through a carefully constructed and chosen cohort experience. Each participating organization designates a participant - the person at their organization responsible for keeping the team aligned and focused. The specific job title that best represents this key integrating function can vary based on the organization's structure, size, and the specific tasks involved.
Integrator
Ideal participants are the glue that holds your internal operations together. They drive team alignment, ensure accountability, manage day-to-day execution, and foster communication across teams.
Custom Blueprint
With guidance from experts at Catalyst Compass and input from peers, participants identify and directly address challenges they currently face and create a custom blueprint to strengthen how work gets done in your organization.
When Your Organization Joins the Catalyst Compass Network, It Will
Boost your organization’s capacity to deliver efficiently & effectively
Tackle real-time operational challenges with confidence
Enhance alignment between your strategy, team, and day-to-day execution
Connect with a supportive regional network of peer organizations
How It Works
Our cohort-based model is crafted to support your participant in driving meaningful progress across your organization. This 12-month experience is designed to function like a cost-effective consulting project - enhanced by peer collaboration and long-term capacity building.
Proven & Structured Approaches
You’ll get access to practical tools designed to help you implement what you’re learning right away. Topics these tools and proven approaches cover include communication routines, feedback and decision making, check-ins, culture & relationships, delegation and accountability, performance problems, and measuring what matters.
Cohort Sessions Focused on Practical, Strategic Operations
Scaling and sustaining your organization starts with aligning your systems, processes, team, and culture with your mission and strategy.
Over nine virtual sessions, you’ll explore real-world strategies to answer key questions like:
Are we measuring what matters most to our goals?
Who owns which decisions — and what does the circle of input look like?
How can feedback drive improvement and team culture?
How do we collaborate effectively as a team?
A Customized Blueprint
You'll work through a guided process to identify a core internal goal, define impact areas, and prioritize key projects unique to your organization. You’ll begin executing this plan during the cohort—with structured support as you go. And you will finish the program with a written plan ready for implementation.
Built-In Accountability to Keep You Moving Forward
We stay closely connected to help you maintain momentum. This isn’t just a learning experience—it’s a 12-month partnership focused on implementing meaningful internal changes, with regular check-ins to keep you on track.
One-on-One Coaching to Personalize Your Progress
Each month, you’ll meet with Christina Hall in a private coaching session. This is your space to apply what you’ve learned, get direct feedback, and work through any organizational challenges you’re facing. 12 - 18 hours of coaching and/or observation.
A Community of Support
You’ll be part of a network of peers through live sessions and an online community, where you can exchange insights, ask questions, and offer support in real time.
Real-Time Support When You Need It
Organizational needs shift quickly, and we’re here to help in the moment. Use our cohort dedicated communication and collaboration platform.
Network Members for Life

You will also get first crack at future cohorts focused on strategic planning, continuous improvement, and continued coaching.

Interested in Joining a Cohort?
Organizations are invited to explore the Catalyst Compass Network and indicate their interest at any time.
New cohorts begin each winter, spring, and fall.
The Process:
Networks are carefully assembled to bring together a diverse range of perspectives and organizations with shared internal priorities.
Step 1: Schedule a Call. A leader from your organization schedules an introductory call to learn more and share your interest.
Step 2: Chat with Christina. During the call, your Executive Leader/Director and intended participant take part in a conversation with Christina Hall to dive into your internal focus areas.
If invited to move forward, your designated participant completes the application process.

She helped us build new systems during a critical time as we launched our new strategic plan and helped foster the cultural and organizational conditions necessary to create space for the strategic and innovative thinking we needed to do, to reach our goals.”
FAQs
-
The best way to find out is to express interest. From there, you'll be invited to book a discovery call with Christina to talk through your organization’s current priorities and determine whether the Catalyst Compass Network is a good match.
Your organization may be a great fit if:
You're expanding your team or planning for growth
You’ve recently developed a new strategy or launched a major initiative
You’ve welcomed new leadership roles
Your organization has merged or formed a new partnership
-
Cohorts are designed to support the person from your team who is responsible for connecting strategy to execution. This role is often held by someone with a title like Chief of Staff, Director of Operations, Managing Director, or another leader who supports internal alignment, cross-functional coordination, team accountability, and communication. At small organizations this could also be the Executive Director.
Though you designate a direct participant, this is a whole-organization commitment. The work done by the participant reaches your broader team and helps move your internal priorities forward.
-
The work of the network focuses on the essential and sometimes hidden work of good implementation and integration. It’s not about governance & compliance, board management, finance, or fundraising - all important existential factors. It is about helping your organization translate strategy into action - HOW to ensure that strategic goals are embedded into daily operations, team workflows, and cross-functional processes.
A focus on:
Implementation. Making sure your strategic plans move into real and sustainable execution.
Integration. Aligning departments, tools, and workflows so strategy is lived out at every level.
Work Process Management. Improving how work gets done across the organization not by managing people, but by managing systems and workflows to drive consistent results.
Your pain point. Your work in this network includes a deeper focus on a challenge of your choosing, transforming your real-world challenge into a catalyst for learning, growth, and improvement.
-
Each cohort is intentionally kept small—up to eight organizations—to foster deeper relationships and meaningful peer learning. This size allows every participant to fully engage and contribute in a virtual setting, while ensuring a diversity of perspectives and shared focus on internal organizational development.
-
This isn’t just professional development—it’s organizational development. The Catalyst Compass Network focuses on your team, your strategy, and your internal systems. Over 12 months, your participant will co-create a customized blueprint for your organization and begin implementing it with ongoing support.
Because of the distributed reach of the participant across your organization this program targets and strengthens your whole organization’s ability to operate with clarity, alignment, and efficiency.
-
This experience is designed to align with the participant’s existing responsibilities.
This includes:
Nine virtual cohort work sessions (each 90 minutes) spaced throughout the year
Approximately 30 minutes prior to each work session for professional reading - case studies or journal articles.
Twelve monthly hour-long one-on-one coaching sessions with Christina Hall
Time between sessions for working on your tailored blueprint, with tools and guidance provided along the way
-
The Network is designed to make organizational development, management consulting, and strategic advising within reach for all organizations.
In tandem with our economizing program design, we are committed to securing partial sponsorships for clients to make the cost within reach.
After application of the 50% financial sponsorship, the total cost to the nonprofit member is $3,250.
-
If your designated participant changes roles or exits the organization during the 12-month program, your spot in the cohort stays active. You can assign someone else to take their place, ensuring your organization continues to benefit from the program and stays on track with your blueprint.
-
Depending on an organization’s complexity constraints, network members may scope their projects broadly or narrowly across the following focus areas:
Leadership and Strategy: strategic & operational alignment, succession planning, merger planning, organizational structure & design, financial sustainability planning, change management.
Talent Management and Development: talent acquisition, performance management & growth, employee retention, learning & development.
Operational and Process Management: process codification & improvement, resource allocation, systems management.
Organizational Culture and Communication - The "soft skills" and internal dynamics that shape the workplace environment: employee engagement, communication & collaboration systems, culture development, conflict resolution.

Our Style
-
Deeply involved - even from afar.
We roll up our sleeves and immerse ourselves in our network members’ day-to-day work. That might mean observing team meetings, reviewing real-time emails, sitting in on hiring processes, or helping analyze internal dynamics. We want to understand what’s really happening so we can help shift things in a meaningful way
-
Rooted in real-world experience.
We’ve sat in your seat. We know how complex and messy leadership can be, and we bring that empathy and understanding to everything we do.
-
Practical and actionable.
We focus on what works. That means offering specific guidance, not just big-picture advice. If a difficult conversation needs to happen, we’ll help draft the language and practice it with you. If a new process needs to be introduced, we’ll co-create examples and models to help bring it to life.
